Cooley Credit Union Races 2019

On Thursday 2^nd May the annual Cooley Credit Union Races took place at Bush track. Now in its 24^th year, this event has gone from strength to strength and it’s longevity is a testament to Glenmore AC and the pupils from the 12 schools in the Cooley Peninsula – from Faughart to Omeath – who make this event the success it is.

Glenmore AC would like to extend a special thank you to Cooley Credit Union for their continued sponsorship of this athletics event and on this the 50^th anniversary year of the club. Thank you also to the Red Cross for their presence at the event and to all the helpers from Glenmore AC for a well organised, enjoyable evening of athletics. A special congratulations to all the primary school children from the 12 schools who participated in the events and to the teachers who encouraged them.

It was another victory for the pupils of Boher N.S. who claimed the Jim Savage Cup for another year (43 points). Dulargy N.S. were 2^nd (37 points) and Rampart N.S. Lordship were 3^rd.   The Liam Clifford Shield was won in the end by Mullaghbuoy N.S. (30 points), 2^nd place was St. Peter’s N.S., Rathcor (14 points) and in 3^rd place was Scoil Naomh Lorcan, Omeath (3 points).

Well done also to all the other schools on some great performances – Ardaghy N.S., Omeath, St. Olivers N.S., Carlingford, Monksland N.S., Bellurgan N.S., Faughart N.S. & Scoil Padraig Naofa, Kilcurry.

Congratulations to all the Senior Infants and Junior Infants athletes who took part and to all the pre-school children who turned up on the night.
