Glenmore report – 18th May 2015

On Saturday the 16th of May Bush track was the venue for the hosting of the North Leinster Special Olympics athletics event. Thanks go to all who organised & volunteered in the running of the event, most especially congrats to all the athletes who participated in making it a very successful day.

The previous Thursday Katelyn Quinn & Niamh Rice came 1st and 2nd in the U15 Girls Javelin Louth Championships whilst Eoin McEneaney won gold in the U15 Boys Javelin event.

Congrats also to Glenmore athletes who took part in the Cooley Coast 10km and 12.5km events.

In the 0 40 mens category for the 10km Ciaran Walsh came 2nd with Fiona McQuaid coming home 1st for senior ladies. They were joined by clubmates Tadhg Leahy, John Kane, Tony Elmore, Gavin White, Aaron Cumiskey, Karen May, Patrick McGreehan, Shane Arnold, Sarah Dooney, Kinga Byrne, Lorraine McCann, Barry Woods, Laura Hoey, Llyod Byrne, Seamas Hanlon, Niamh Rice, Ava Ashby, Mia Ashby, Lorraine Gillespie, Liz Rafferty, Melissa McCoy, Patrick Morgan, Sean Hanlon, teressa Keenan, Alice Ferguson, Siobhain Rice, Olivia Duffy & Andy Quinn.

In the 12.5km Shane Toner was 3rd in senior race, Patrick White 2nd in 040 category & Kenneth McBride 2nd in 050 category   with Gerry McAlinden also finishing strongly.

Meanwhile members are training towards the 2nd year of the 10 mile Glenmore Challenge coming up on the Saturday the 13th of June. Please see for further details.

Training continues every Tuesday & Thursday for Juveniles from 7-8pm with senior sessions on Mondays & Wednesdays.
