Juvenile Awards 2019
Glenmore AC hosted its juvenile awards day on Saturday last. To mark this special 50th anniversary of the club the athletes met at ‘The Glenmore stone’ which marks the foundation of the club, and headed up Slieve Foy mountain led by some of the club’s senior athletes for a treasure hunt. It was back to Mullaghbuoy hall for some food and entertainment. Afterwards all athletes were presented with a commemorative medal to mark their representation of Glenmore AC over 2018/2019 season. The following athletes received individual awards;
U8/10 Track & Field athlete of the year – Gillian Tuohy & Ethan Nichols
U11 Track & Field athlete of the year – Roisin Daly
U12 Track & Field athlete of the year – Katie McDonald & Elliott Nichols
U13/14 Track & Field athlete of the year – Lucy White, Aaron Hanratty & Fionn O’Reilly
U15/16 Track & Field athlete of the year – Ava Brady & James Dunne
U17/19 Track & Field athlete of the year – Nicole Barry & Niall Brady
Overall Track & Field Athlete of the Year – Gillian Tuohy & Niall Brady
U8/10 Cross Country athlete of the year – Zoe White & Ethan Nichols
U11 Cross Country athlete of the year – Molly Anne Moore
U12 Cross Country athlete of the year – Jessica White & Elliott Nichols
U15/16 Cross Country athlete of the year – Ava Brady & James Dunne
U17/U19 Cross Country athlete of the year – Zofia Mullen & Ciaran Flynn
Overall Cross Country Athlete of the Year – Zoe White & James Dunne
Special awards were given to the following athletes in recognition of the improvements they have made over the season;
Sarah Duffy (u11), Grace Keenan & Craig Tuohy (u12), Ava Ashby (u13/14), Blathnaid Murphy (u15/16), Anna McArdle & Craig Kane (u17-19).
In addition the club wished to recognise the contribution a number of athletes have made over the cross country season with their attendance and participation at the various CC meetings over the season;
Anna Gaztambide (u8-10), Sophie Cumiskey & Mario Liam Gaztambide (u11), Eimear Finnegan & Aoife Keenan (u12), Ellen Callan & Mia Ashby (u13) & Sarah Mallon (u14).
