Leinster Championships T & F 2019

Nine Glenmore Athletes made the trip to Tullamore on Saturday & Sunday last to compete in the Leinster Juvenile Championships. First up for the club was Katie McDonald competing in the girls u12 60m hurdles. Katie ran a great heat to qualify for the finals finishing 5th overall. Next up on the track was Lucy White in the u14 girls 200m sprint. Lucy won her heat with ease sailing through to the final winning her first gold medal of the weekend. Niall Brady ran a great race in boys u18 100m sprint to claim 1st place, adding to the clubs medal tally. A number of Glenmore athletes competed in the 1500m. Ava Ashby & Ava Brady ran well in girls u14s & u15s respectively with Lisa Conlon finishing strongly in u15s to claim a well earned 3rd place. James Dunne also ran a great race in boys u15 to finish in the top half of the field. Day 1 finished with the inter county relays. Lucy White was part of the girls u15s team who finished in 2nd position. James Dunne was part of the 4th place boys u15 team. Nicole Barry also claimed a silver medal as part of the u17 girls team as did Niall Brady as part of the boys u19 team

Day 2 saw Lisa Conlon narrowly missing out on a medal to finish in 4th place in girls u15 800m. Lucy White continued her winning form  to claim the top podium position once again in girls u14 100m final. The day finished with u12 girls long jump with both Katie McDonald  & Jessica White jumping well to finish in the top 8.  The club would like to congratulation all the Juvenile athletes who represented their club with pride at the Leinster Championships. Training continues on Tuesday & Thursday evenings at the Bush track at 7pm.
