All-Ireland Cross Country B event 2016
|On January 24th Glenmore athletes did not have to travel too far for the which was held at DKIT. First up were the U11 girls. Lisa Conlon was the first Glenmore girl home followed closely by Ava Brady, Anna Dawson, Ava Ashby, Caitlin Savage, Sarah Mallon & Katie McGuinness. The girls were 6th club with Lisa and Ava just pipped for county medals.
Next up were Fionn O’Reilly who persevered despite losing a spike & Shane Gallagher in his first all-Ireland run out for U11s. Anna McArdle was first Glenmore girl home in the first 20 for U13 girls followed by Laoise McElroy, Nicole Barry, Breanna Savage & Laoise McGuinness. Daragh Brady represented the club in U13 boys and had a great sprint into the finish. In U15s both Katie Mallon & Glen Stewart put in gutsy performances as did Tadhg Leahy in U17.
James McArdle & Niall Brady earned silver team medals in the Louth County U14 relay team whilst Ciara Quinn was part of the U14 girls team.
Congrats to all Glenmore athletes who represented the club at All-Ireland level & to Niall Brady, Katie Mallon and Tadhg Leahy who all ran on Friday the 22nd representing Bush School in the schools cross-country.
Training continues every Tuesday & Thursday for juveniles with senior training on Mondays & Wednesdays. Bushformation is in its fourth week with over 110 participants thus making for a very busy track. The next juvenile races will be on 31st January hosted by Blackrock AC in Haggardstown. We would like to see a full turnout for teams in all age groups.
