Ardee Sports Day 2017
On Sunday last, our athletes travelled to Ardee to compete in the final track and field event of 2017. First up was Sarah Mallon who qualified comfortably in her heat to the final of U12 100m sprint where she just missed out on medals. Sarah had a fantastic performance in her U12 800m. Ava Brady took to the runway in U13 Long jump and acquitted herself very well in the 100m sprint and 800m middle distance. Shaun Quinn competed in the U14 Shot putt where he took 1st position with an outstanding throw of 10m 10cm achieving a new PB, he also placed 4th in a great 100m sprint. His sister Katelyn had a super U19 100m sprint placing 2nd while Katie Mallon acquitted herself very well among a fast field placing 1st position in U19 800m.
Last event of the day, Girls U13 4×100 relay. Many thanks to Ava from Ardee & District AC and Holly from Trim AC who completed the team, with Ava Brady and Sarah Mallon, all girls had a superb time!
Juvenile training resumes on Tuesday night 7-8pm in preparation for the upcoming cross-country season.
