Star of the Sea Results
|Glenmore AC Juvenile athletes attended Star of the Sea Cross-Country race on Sunday 28th September in the basking sun. First up for the club were theU9 Girls winning trio of Lucy White (2nd), Chloe McCarragher (3rd) and Anna Dawson, the girls won gold team medals. Finn O’Reilly ran bravely in U9 Boys whilst Laoise McElroy and Eve Meehan battled it out in U11 Girls race. Sean McCarragher represented the club in U10 Boys race as did Sam Dawson in U12s. Lisa Conlon ran strongly in U10s whilst her sister Katie and Nicole Barry ran in the U12 race. James McArdle (U13), Glen Stewart (U14), Eoghan O’Connor (U15) and Tadhg Leahy (U17) all ran gutsy races on a tough, gruelling course. Congrats to all for brave performances. Meanwhile the senior men Shane Toner, Shane Lynch, Kenneth McBride, Patrick White and Gavin White ran in the 6km emulating the juvenile’s brave performances. Shane Toner won 5th overall whilst Kenneth McBride was 3rd
O50 category. New senior athlete Paul Flanagan ran a PB in the Blackrock 4 mile on Saturday followed closely by club mates Fiona Finan, Stephen O’ Connor, Kinga Byrne and Vicky Leahy. Training continues for both juveniles and seniors in preparation for the upcoming Louth Cross Country on the 5th of October in Drogheda and, of course, our own club event the Kearney & McBride Cup on October 19th.
