|Glenmore AC Fit 4life athletes braved the elements on Wednesday last and participated in the DkIT 10km race. Well done to the following athletes: Shane Toner, Tony Mulligan, Kenneth McBride, Patrick O’Reilly, Pat Ferguson, Gavin White, Paul Gallagher, Stephen O’Connor, Karen May, Tony Elmnore , Kinga Byrne, Patrick Gill, Millie Gray, Anne McEvoy, Laura Hoey, Rose Clifford, Samantha Fox & Vicky Leahy.
Meanwhile Juvenile athletes are in preparation for the upcoming Track & Field season, this starts with the Pre-championships on Saturday 12th April at Lourdes Stadium, Drogheda at 12. On Saturday 5th April over 50 Glenmore juveniles travelled to Sheepbridge Inn, Newry for quasar, bowling and food on a fun day out. A great time was had by all. Thanks to mentors & coaches who travelled with the children and to the athletes themselves for good behaviour.
We are also preparing for the annual Cooley Credit Union Races on Thursday May 1st starting at 6.30pm. This is always a popular event and includes all primary schools in the peninsula including Kilcurry and Faughart. Children from the area attending other schools can run as individuals. Glenmore AC Fit for Life men were very active over the St Patricks weekend with Kenneth McBride, Patrick O’Reilly , Stephen O’Connor & Gerry Stewart all recording excellent times in the DUNE marathon whilst Pat Ferguson & John Kane ran the Patricks Day Pat Gogarty Jenkinstown challenge.
