GLENMORE REPORT 17th June 2018
|Glenmore AC juveniles travelled to Tullamore again at the weekend to compete in the Leinster U12-U19 Juvenile Championships. Katelyn Quinn had a wonderful day on Saturday taking medals in both of her events. Katelyn took silver in the U18 Javelin and in the afternoon took bronze in the U18 girls long jump. Lisa Conlon ran a very strong race in the girls U14 1500m and took a well deserved bronze medal. On Sunday Lisa ran the U14 800m finishing 4th just outside the medals. Lucy White competed in the U13 80m hurdles, qualified for the final finishing outside the medals; she also competed in the U13 long jump finishing in the top 8. Eoin Mc Cann competed in the boys U17 100m running very well. Ciaran Flynn competed well in the U17 boys 3000m. Well done to all.
Big congratulations to Glenmore senior athlete Sarah Walsh who completed the very popular Kildares Thoroughbred Run, which was routed through the very scenic Sheshoon Stud. Sarah proved to be a fine filly in the 10k event and galloped to the finish line in a personal best time of 47:07.
Next up on the calendar for some Glenmore athletes is The Long Woman’s 5k, being held in Omeath on 27th June, This inaugural event is being organised to help raise funds for essential PE equipment for local Scoil Naomh Lorcan.
