Carlingford 10k & Half Marathon – Inter County Relay’s
Several Fit4life members ran Carlingford 10km and half marathon on Saturday 1st March in aid of St Brigids School. Congrats to John Kane,Karen May, Ali McEnhill,Stephen O’Connor, KInga Byrne, Gerry Stewart, Pat Gill, Yvonne Gallagher, Anne McEvoy, Eilis McGuigan, Joan Farnon and Bridget McGreehan. Ciaron Walsh came 3rd in the 10k followed by clubmembers Patrick O’Reilly, Shane Arnold , Gavin White, Tony Elmore and Gabrielle O’Hanlon. It was inspiring to witness a large number of senior Glenmore athletes competing and especially poignant on the day that one of our founding members, Mickey McBride, was laid to rest. Stephen O’Connors 5km run for childrens cancer & respite takes place at 11am on March 8th at the Old Newry Road, Dundalk and several members hope to tog out for the event.
On Sunday 2nd March the Inter County relays 4 * 500m took place at DkIT where Ciara Quinn and Anna McArdle (sub) were part of the U12 county team which came 2nd. James McArdle was part of the U12 County team which came 3rd and Nicola Ferguson was part of the U14 county team which came 3rd.
The club are taking a break from training to coincide with the end of the cross-country season. Training for track and field will recommence on Tuesday 11th March.
