Glenmore AC Report 11th April 2017
|It was a busy weekend of athletics for Glenmore AC athletes with green shirts turning out in force for the Land of Legends 10 km and half-marathon. In the 10km event Martin Toner led the Glenmore contingent coming home 2nd, followed by Tadhg Leahy in third place overall. Next in was Llyod Byrne who won 3rd male O40, followed by Aidan Gallagher, Kinga Byrne, 3rd female overall, Sarah Dooney , 1st female O40, Katie Bell, Ann McEvoy, 1st female O50 and Vicky Leahy.
In the half-marathon, Shane Toner led the field comprehensively and glided home 1st overall followed by clubmates Paul Savage, Patrick White , 3rd male O40, Ronan Callan, Stephen O’Connor, John Kane, Michael McShane, Gavin White, Shane Arnold, Karen May, 3rd female O40, Ali McEnhill, Rose White and Laura Hoey. Congrats to all who ran on a tough but beautiful course.
Meanwhile several athletes ran the Patsy Kelly 5km: Ronan Callan, Michael McShane both of whom had already done the Legends half that morning and Madeline Treanor.
All are now motivated towards the Glenmore Challenge on June 10th. Full details can be found here.
Juvenile Track and Field season training continues on Tuesday and Thursdays 7-8pm at bush track.
