Glenmore Report 21st May 2017
|Glenmore athletes travelled to Leixlip on Sunday last to compete in the Inter Club Leinster Championships.
We had seven teams competing on the day all having qualified at the Louth Championships at Bush two weeks ago. It proved a successful day for our youngest teams with the girls and boys U10 qualifying through their heats to the final. The girls team, Grace Keenan, Katie Mc Donald, Emma Mc Carragher, Jessica White and sub Ella Connolly took the bronze medal and progress to compete in the All Ireland Finals in July. The U10 boys Elliot Nichols, Craig Touhy, Josh Mc Ateer and Cian Magee ran a great final just missing out on the medals.
U 11 girls Ellen Callan, Katie Mc Donald, Mia Ashby and Jessica White finished strong in their heats as did the U 12 girls, Anna Dawson, Chloe Mc Carragher, Ava Ashby and Lucy White. U13 girls were represented by Ava Brady, Lucy White, Emily Touhy and Anna Dawson.
The U16 and U17 boys relays were both ran as straight finals and while we competed strongly in both we finished outside the medals. U 16 boys were Darragh Brady, Eoin McCann, Ciaran Flynn, Niall Brady and Ethan Duffy, U 17 boys were represented by Eoin Mc Cann, Niall Brady, Richard Campbell and Ciaran Flynn.
