Well done to all 4 athletes on some great results at the end of a long season!
Ardee AC hosted the last track and field event of the year. Gillian Tuohy proved yet again that she is a force to be reckoned with on the track taking 1st place in girls u10 80m sprint & 2nd place in 200m. Her brother Craig was unlucky to miss out on a medal finishing 5th in u12 100m final.
Elsewhere congratulations to Glenmore AC athletes Donal McMorland (01:02:15 ) and Erin Mc Greehan (01:46:42) who competed in the hugely popular Warriors Run in Sligo. Participants start at the beachfront of the picturesque village of Strandhill and take on the physically challenging race to the megalithic cairn, known as Queen Maeve’s Grave, on top of Knocknarea mountain and return again to the beachfront finish line. Well done Donal on being placed 17th in a field of over 1100 athletes.
Congrats to Glenmore AC athlete John Doyle (01:21:51) who competed in the Frank Duffy 10 miler in Dublin under the glare of the late summer sunshine!
