Glenmore report 29th September 2019
|Well done to the 4 Glenmore AC athletes who took part in Sundays St Vincent’s 5km. James Dunne ran an impressive 18:11 to finish 4th overall and 1st Male student u18. He was followed home by Ciaran Flynn in 5th place and 2nd Male student u18 in 19:02. Zofia Mullen also ran a great race to finish on 19th place overall and 4th St Vincents student in 22:09. Sarah Dooney completed the field for Glenmore in 27th place overall in a time of 23:26.
Big congratulations to Senior Glenmore Athlete Paul Savage on completing Ironman 70.3 in Cervia, Italy on 22nd September in a very impressive time of 04:56:05.
Big shout out to the Glenmore AC athletes who headed into the West at the weekend to compete in various running events, firstly Bridget Mc Greehan in the Donegal East 3/4 Marathon, starting in Ballybofey and running alongside the River Finn, this was ideal preparation for the upcoming Dublin Marathon, and secondly, well done to Donal Mc Morland (59:58) and Erin Mc Greehan (01:38:02)PB in the 7th annual Sligo Coast to Coast 10 mile Road Race , starting in Strandhill and finishing in Rosses Point Co Sligo. Congrats to Donal on being placed 5th overall and Erin on a super PB.
Glenmore AC would like to invite ALL past and present members and partners along to a 50th Anniversary Dinner Dance in The Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford on Friday 18th October 2019 to look back and chat over the last 50 years achievements.
There will be entertainment on arrival at 7pm by John McIntyre and Zoe Conway followed by a 3 course dinner at 7.30pm and then dancing until late with the help of ” The Booze Brothers ”
We hope to see a lot of old and new faces and remember all the bragging rights they had with their rivals over the years.
