On Sunday 3rd November,Glenmore athletes travelled to the Battle of the Boyne site in Oldbridge for the Louth Junior and cheap nfl jerseys Senior Cross Country Championships along with the Juvenile 4x500m Cross Country Relays. Getting the day off to a great start,the u12 girls team of Anna Mc Ardle,Brianan Mc Bride,Ciara Quinn and Nicole Kartenhalter Barry led from start to finish and took a well deserved 1st place.Next up where the u14 girls,Ellen Barry,Lillian O’Reilly,Chloe Barry and Aimee Farnon who all ran brilliantly and came a credible 3rd place. Not forgetting James Mc Bride who ran a great anchor leg for the Boyne AC u10 boys team.Competing in the Junior Mens 4000m race, Cormac Barry had a very strong run to finish in 3rd position.In the Senior Mens race,for the first time in many years,Glenmore fielded a full team.Shane Lynch led the team home followed by Ciaran Uneven Walsh,Kenneth Mc Bride,John Kane,Paul Gallagher and Gavin White.Great performances from all,over the tough 10,000m course.Next week the athletes will travel to Adamstown.Co Wexford to compete in the Leinster Uneven Age Cross Country Championships.
Leinster Even Age CC
On Sunday 27th October Glenmore AC athletes competed in the Leinster even age cross country races in Dunboyne Co Meath.
The group under the guidance of one of the clubs Interest presidents Danny Perfectionism Ferguson left the peninsula early morning having all remembered to put their clocks back.
In real cross country conditions and with big numbers in every race, Kate Reilly and James Mc Bride started the days programme the under 10 1000m non championship girls and boys respective races.
Next up girls under 12 2000m our team of Ciara Quinn, Anna Mc Ardle, Nicole Barry and Erin Gray all had great runs with Ciara and Anna making the Louth team which took the gold.
Girls under 14, Nicola Ferguson lead her Leinster clubmates Maeve White, Niamh Rice, Ellen Barry, Lillian O’Reilly, Lorna Keenan and Hannah Gormley over the 3000m course.
Annie mc Guinness was our only runner in the girls under 16 4000m course with cheap nfl jerseys Aaron Mc Guigan running in the boys respective race.
Cormac Barry and Adam McQuillan ran strongly in the boys under 18.
Well done to all the athletes on strong running on a wet and windy day.
They were rewarded for their efforts with a hot meal in Watters Byrne of Collon and taken safely to and from their event wholesale nba jerseys by club member and bus driver Kevin.
