Louth Championships 5th October
|Glenmore team spirit alive and well Glenmore Juveniles and novice men & women attended the Louth Championships in Meadowview, Drogheda on Sunday 5th October on a crisp dry autumn day. The Novice women started off proceedings with Fiona Finan, Ali McEnhill, Lorraine McCann, Joan Farnon & Vicky Leahy completing the 3km. The ladies team were 6th overall whilst Paul Savage, Ciarain Walsh, Kenneth McBride, Patrick O’Reilly, Paul Flanangan and Gavin White strutted their stuff in the 6km race with 7th team placing. The new Glenmore attire and turnout of adult and juvenile athletes made for a great days running. Saoirse McBride, Emma McCarragher, Jessica White , Aine Reilly & Roisin Daly sprinted to the finish of the U8 Girls race with Peadar Walsh doing the honours in the U8 Boys event. Lisa Conlon, Ava Brady, Caoimhe McBride, Chloe McCarrgher & Lucy White won silver team medals followed by club mates Orlagh Daly, Aoife McGee, Katie McGuinness & Caitlin Savage in U10. Fionn O’Reilly, Cathal Walsh & Cillian Murphy represented the club well in U10 Boys. U12 Girls won Gold team medals with Anna McArdle (2nd individual), Ciara Carolan, Alice Ferguson & Katie Conlon followed by club mates Nicole Barry and Breanna Savage. Ethan Murphy led the Glenmore boys in U12 followed by Shaun Quinn & Sean McCarragher. Maeve White led the U14 Glenmore girls home to silver team medals in U14 Girls followed by Ciara Quinn, Katelyn Quinn and Aimee Farnon whilst Fionn Reilly was first home for U14 boys followed by James McArdle & Niall Brady. Hannah Stewart ran a formidable race followed by Ellen Barry & Chloe Barry to win silver team medals in Girls U16 with Tadhg Leahy leading U16 Glenmore boys Eoghan O’Connor & Paul McGlynn home for well deserved silver team medals. Well done to all & we are looking forward to more team work at uneven age Louth Championships in DkIT next Sunday. Both Juveniles and seniors alike are also in preparation for our annual Kearney & McBride event on the 19th October.
