Louth Cross Country Championships 2015 – Even Ages
|Bush Track was the venue for the even age Louth Championships on Sunday last. The cross country course included another field which athletes & organisers alike were quick to praise. Our thanks to all the local landowners for use of their fields.
The Intermediate women & men started the days events. Glenmore Intermediate mens team were first up for the club with Paul Savage, Ciaran Walsh, Michael McShane & Gavin White.
U10 girls were led home by Chloe McCarragher in 6th followed by Lucy White, Anna Dawson, Orlaigh Daly, Ava Ashby, Jenna Rice, Sarah Mallon & Aoife McGee. The first 4 girls won 2nd team. U10 Boys ran well with Tom Dearey, 4th, followed by Jason Brady, Fionn O’ Reilly, Conor Fitzgerald, Adam Sharkey, Adam Brady & Oisin Durnin. The U12 Girls won 3rd team with Laoise McElroy, 6th, Lisa Conlon, Ava Brady, Millie Rice followed by Blathnaid Murphy, Grace Dearey, Katie McGuinness & Caitlin Savage.U12 Glenmore Boys were led home by Sean O’Kane, Oisin Fitzgerald & james Sharkey. U14 Girls won 1st team with Anna McArdle, 3rd, Ciara Quinn, 4th, Katie Conlon& Nicole Barry followed closely by Breanna Savage, Erin Gray & Laoise McGuinness. U14 Boys won 1st team with Niall Brady, 3rd, James McArdle, Daragh Brady, Sam Dawson & Eunan McMullin. U16 Girls also brought home gold team medals with Maeve White, Katie Mallon & Lillian O’ Reilly. Richard Campbell had a brave run amongst tough competition in the U16 Boys event. Well done to all who competed & once again team work paid off for Glenmore.
Athletes will be competing in the uneven ages Championships in Meadowview, Drogheda next weekend & on the 18th for our own Kearney & McBride Cup Races on the 18th of October. Juvenile events will start at 12 and the 6km road race will be at 1pm.
