Pre-Louth Championships 12th April 2014

Forty juveniles travelled to Drogheda for the pre-Louth Championships for a great day’s athletics and a haul of 44 medals. Once again, team spirit was the theme of the day with relay teams sprinting over the finish line.

U9 Girls Relay Team 3rd: Isobel Meehan, Laoise McElroy, Lisa Conlon & Kate Reilly.

U10 Boys Relay team 2nd: Cathal Walsh, James McBride, Cian McGuinness & James Sharkey

U12 Boys Relay team 3rd: Daragh Brady, Shaun Quinn, Sean McCarragher & Cian Reilly.

U14 Girls Relay team 2nd: Erica Quinn, Ciara Carolan, Nicole Barry & Ciara Quinn

U14 Boys Relay Team 3rd: Niall Brady, Fionn Reilly, Brendan McCann & Oisin Duffy.

U16 Mixed Relay Team 1st: Tadhg Leahy, Hannah Stewart, Paul McGlynn & Eoghan O’Connor.

Sprints

U9 Girls: Chloe McCarragher & Lucy White got through to final. U10 Girls: Ava Brady, Isobel Meehan & Lisa Conlon ran in heats. U11 Girls: Laoise McELroy was 4th in semi-final.U12 Girls: Ciara Carolan 4th in final. U13 Girls: Ciara Quinn & Erica Quinn got through to final with Erica winning silver in final.

U14 Girls: Chloe Barry 2nd in final.U15 Girls: Hannah Stewart 3rd in final. U9 Boys: William Quinn & Adam Sharkey got through to final. U10 Boys: James McBride James Sharkey , Cian McGuinness. U12 Boys: Daragh Brady 3rd in heat. U13 Boys: Niall Brady 3rd in final. U15 Boys: Brendan McCann, Eoghan O’Connor & Paul McGlynn ran with Paul coming 2nd in final. U16 Boys: Tadhg Leahy 1st in final.

Meanwhile, that evening Glenmore Fit 4 Life athletes enjoyed a well-organised Patsy Kelly 5km. Congrats to the following: Shane Toner, Tony Mulligan, Patrick O’Reilly, Kenneth McBride, Ciaran Walsh, Gerry Stewart, Anne McEvoy, Brian Griffin, Ann Marie Reilly, Rose Griffin and Lorraine Gillespie.
