Armagh Road Races 2017
|Glenmore AC was well represented at the Armagh International road races on Thursday night last 16th February. First up was brothers Aaron and Sean Hanratty who ran a very strong race and did the club proud. Next up was the U11 girl’s race with Aine O Reilly finishing in the top 20. In the boys U13 Fionn O Reilly sprinted home finishing in the top 20 with Cormac Mc Coy close on his heels. In the girls U13, Ava Brady finished in 7th place and won an individual medal, followed closely by Lisa Conlon, Ava Ashby and Sarah Mallon. In the girls U15 race Katie Conlon produced a storming finish to take 8th place and secure another individual medal. Sinead Mac Erlane had a fantastic race competing with Olympian medallists. Finally on the night Shane Toner had a very strong run in the Elite Men’s 5K race.
Also this week three of our Glenmore athletes competed in the Lenister Schools Cross Country Championships in Santry Demesne. Katie Conlon representing St Vincents had a strong run in a huge Minor Girls 1500m race. Sinead Mac Erlane (St Vincents) and Hannah Stewart (St Louis) also had great performances among a very fast competitive field in the Senior Girls 2500m race.
The Club AGM takes place on Wednesday night February 22 at 8.00pm at Bush. All registered adults please come along, this is your club. Registration for 2017 is now due; if you are walking or running at the track you must be a registered member. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursdays 7-8pm at bush track.
