Glenmore Report 31st July 2017
|On Saturday 29th June Glenmore had a small but determined contingent of athletes who competed in the Setanta Games, Lourdes Stadium Drogheda.
First up Gillian Tuohy, who took to the track in the u8 60m finishing 3rd in her heat and competed in the final. Gillian came a fantastic 3rd place in the u8 200m. Next up Minnatuah Lennon and Ruby Steeples both girls qualified for the final u10 60m and ran a superb u10 200m placing 9th and 10th respectively.
Craig Tuohy a very keen sprinter, competed in the u10 60m and came 1st in his heat, finishing 4th in final. Unfortunately, he had a bad fall after he crossed the finish line nonetheless a determined Craig ran the u10 200m where he finished in 5th place.
Megan Steeples qualified in her u12 100m sprint and acquitted herself very well in the final. Megan also competed in the u12 300m finishing 7th.
Next up Lisa Conlon and Ava Brady u13 100m competed well in heat, just missing out on the final. Both girls also ran u13 500m with Lisa finishing a fantastic 4th place and Ava 5th place.
Katie Conlon is showing great improvement all year placing 4th in the 100m sprint and winning silver in her u15 800m. Shaun Quinn tackled tough competition in the u15 Shot Putt finishing in 2nd place. While Daragh Brady took to the track placing 4th in u15 100m final.
Ciaran Flynn jumped extremely well in the u16 Long Jump placing 2nd, finished 3rd place in the 100m sprint and 2nd place in the 800m. Ciaran did himself proud and is showing huge improvement in all events.
In the juniors Katelyn Quinn acquitted herself very well placing 2nd in all 3 events. Long Jump, 100m and 800m. Craig Kane competed in the Long Jump receiving bronze, he also achieved 2nd 100m and 2nd in 800m which was outstanding. Hannah Stewart had excellent performances achieving 1st 100m and 2nd 800m.
Lisa, Ava and Megan ran in the u13 girls relay with help from Emmy Jeytoo from Blackrock AC. While Katie Conlon made up the Ardee relay team placed 3rd.
A huge well done to all our athletes who did themselves and the club extremely proud.
Congrats to Gerry Stewart on a pb in the Fingal 10km last week and to Micheal Mc Shane, Ronan Callan and John Doyle who ran the Blaney Rockets 10miler.
