Team ethos brings home the medals at Blackrock AC CC

No less than 8 teams won medals at Blackrock AC Cross Country races on a windy Sunday, 26th January. The events started with the U7 girls & boys races; Niamh Arnold, 3rd, and Aine O’Reilly stepped up to the mark for Glenmore AC whilst Peadar Walsh, 2nd, and Christopher Conlon did the honours in the boys race. Next up for Glenmore were Finn O’Reilly, 3rd, Cathal Walsh and Adam Sharkey who came home first team in Boys U9 race. U11 Girls team were led home by Lisa Conlon followed by Laoise McElroy, Eva Brady & Kate Reilly. Shaun Quinn led the U11 Boys home with Sean McCarragher & James Sharkey earning them silver team medals. U13 Girls Ciara Quinn, 3rd, Anna McArdle, Nicole Barry, Erin Grey, Katie Conlon & Orlagh McGuigan won gold and bronze team medals whilst James McArdle, brothers Niall & Daragh Brady & Ian Arnold earned bronze team in Boys U13. The U15 Girls won silver and bronze team medals with Nicola Ferguson, Hannah Gormley, Chloe Barry, Kate Arnold, Amy Farnon, Lillian O’Reilly and Lorna Keenan. Eoghan Keenan, 3rd, Glen Stewart & Paul McGlynn battled to win silver team medals in U15 Boys. U17 Girls was won by Hannah Stewart whilst Tadhg Leahy & Aaron McGuigan battled it out for 1st and 2nd in U17 boys event. Cormac Barry and Adam McQuillan took 1st and 2nd place in U19 Boys event.
Thanks to Blackrock AC for their usual well organised event and congrats to all athletes who participated & braved the elements. Training for Juveniles continues every Tuesday & Thursday from 7-8pm, Fit for Life on Mondays from 8-9pm & Wednesdays 7-8pm
